Is it safe to take Aloe Vera if one is taking heart medication, as well as being diabetic?

Hi Ursula,

It’s best you seek advice from your doctor. Aloe Vera in itself is helpful for people with diabetes but you want to make sure it’s okay for you. We will continue posting more information on Aloe Vera, so please keep visiting our site.

Thank you!

Is it safe to take Aloe Vera for Blood pressure, as well as being diabetic?
How much qty should be taken and can it be taken twice

Aloe Vera Benefits 03.30.09 at 2:34 pm

Hi Rikhye,

My reply to your question would be exactly as the one I gave Ursula above. “It’s best you seek advice from your doctor. Aloe Vera in itself is helpful for people with diabetes but you want to make sure it’s okay for you.

We’ll be publishing more great information on Aloe Vera shortly, so please drop by our site again soon.

Thank you!

Agnes 04.06.09 at 4:46 pm

By accident I bought pure aloe vera juice and it’s not very tasty, are there any other ways I could use it? I heard you can apply it to the skin thanks Agnes

Aloe Vera Benefits 04.08.09 at 12:26 pm

Hi Agnes,

When you say pure Aloe Vera Juice, do you mean a freshly squeezed Aloe Vera plant or do you mean the processed, bottled variety?

If it is the latter, then you are better off following the instructions on the bottle.

If it is fresh Aloe Vera juice then, yes, there are a number of uses which we will be publishing here very soon, so please be on the look out.

Aloe Vera though bitter, is an acquired taste. Give it some time and I’m sure you will get used to it.

Have a great day!

muralimohan 04.13.09 at 9:38 am

Aloe Vera Benefits 04.23.09 at 12:02 pm

Hi Sreenivas,

It sure does…! Especially if it is the Aloe Barbedensis specie.

We’ll be uploading more content about Aloe Vera in the next
few days and there is a page that will be dedicated to the
medicinal benefits of Aloe Vera and of growing your own Aloe
plant which you’re certain to find quite useful.

Thanks for visiting our site, have a great day!

Aloe Vera Benefits 04.23.09 at 11:46 am

Dear Murali,

Thank you for your inquiry and our apologies for just getting back to you.

Pure Aloe Vera in itself has no known side effects but you still want to be
careful because of their condition.

Your best bet is to to seek your doctor’s advice and follow any recommended
dosage on your supplier’s product.

Thank you.

Would it be alright if I used an Aloe Vera Gel after putting on Benzoyl Peroxide for my acne?

mark 06.28.09 at 5:56 pm

I was told that aloe vera can be use to heal interstitial cystitis. If you drink it. Is this true?

paul m 07.01.09 at 3:49 pm

I began using aloe vera for sunburns about 20 years ago. Soon after I also began to use it as an after shower moisturizer, for my face in particular. Skin tends to feel rather tight and dry following a shower. This became part of my routine and I haven’t looked back.

For 20+ years now following every shower … occasionally at other times during the day I have been using aloe. I have always liked the fact that it was natural, non-greasy and essentially disappeared about five minutes after using with no residue leaving your skin properly moisturized. Evidence suggests that aloe provides significant benefits far exceeding simple sunburn treatments. This seems to be backed up by the fact that island residents where aloe is prevalent and used regularly tend to have skin looking years younger than the user’s true age.

My preference is towards the more natural. Aloe from the plant is a clear gel – not green as many products show it. I suppose some manufacturers have made it green because that color is either expected or more pleasing in some way but if you are looking for natural you want it clear and as close to 100% aloe vera as is possible. Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera fills the bill on all fronts. 100% aloe vera, no added color, no added alcohol etc. It has become our house favorite.

Side note: at the time I began using it I was not seeking a youth potion, just a way of getting rid of that tight dry feeling following a shower. I don’t know if credit belongs with the aloe, heredity, luck or some combination but my skin appears quite a bit younger than my age should dictate. Take that for what it is.

Brett Y 07.06.09 at 3:59 pm

I recently was having a big problem with humidity….light headiness…..head ache shortness of breath.
I got an idea to try Aloe Vera Gel from Walgreen’s because it cools the skins after a sunburn.
I think it helped to cool my body from the humidity. So if humidity bothers you, try it.

Does aloe vera help restore hair loss an any way. Thank you

Aloe Vera Benefits 07.29.09 at 6:35 pm

Hi there Gopavaram,

Great Aloe brand…!

When drinking Aloe, always start with a little bit first to see how it goes.

It is not a medicated drink but a vegetable juice filled with a lot of
goodness so the results may differ from one person to another.

Speak to the person who sold it to you, I’m sure they should have
more information for you on how to consume.

All the best!

Does Alovera helps in hair growth in the male pattern of baldness?

dilawar 02.12.10 at 1:32 am

I want to share my experience with you. I was suffering from Ulcerative Colitis and was on Asacol and oral steroids but it was not cured. I read many articles about aloe vera. I grew many aloe vera plants in my backyard and started eating the gel of one leaf everyday. After that I don’t have any problem, it is more than a year now. I think it is cured by aloe vera. If anybody has UC or ulcer, try it. I told my story to many patients and everybody got good results. Just cut one leaf and make pieces and leave it in water overnight, clean it in the morning and eat the gel. Fresh gel is bitter in taste so keep in water for few hours. It is very good for skin and other diseases also. God bless you.

dilawar 02.12.10 at 1:44 am

I was suffering from Ulcerative Colitis for two years and it was on and off. My friend told the benefits of aloe vera. Can Aloe Vera help re-grow or stop hair from falling? if yes how to use? Do we get any aloe vera oil

Henrik Lindberg 02.25.10 at 2:51 pm

1. You have to use COLD PROCESSED Aloe in liquid or gel.
2. It is FANTASTIC against all type of burns. Yesterday I poured BOILING WATER right on my bare foot, and in no small amount! Instead of running to the cold water tap, I ran to the fridge, took out my Dr Donsbach Aloe bottle, poured generously on a big cotton pad, changed it 5-6 times and pressed it on to the (big) spot for 12-15 minutes. No pain afterwards. NO MARK WHATSOEVER. As usual.
3. My mother had a nurse that came daily and could not get rid of the staphylococcus and pus that oozed from her big operation scar. The stitches loosened one by one every day. She considered that this was so serious that hospital again was the only way. But I sent her away, Aloe was put upon the terrible mess, and NO it was not sterile, but in 4 days the scar was healed, and all the pus was gone, it JUMPED out of the wound.
4. My dog had a similar problem after a severe bite and I refused antibiotics, Aloe chased away the big amount of pus in an incredible 2 days.
5. I made the mistake of accepting antibiotics after getting a closed-in wound, in my leg, horribly infected. After 3 cures, the wound was worse than ever and my stomach was ruined. Aloe cured the wound in 10 days AND my stomach.
6. Many natural remedies are amazing, but Aloe takes the first place…I am constantly amazed of its power. The ‘meat eating’ junkie disease was no match for it either…

terri 03.03.10 at 2:05 pm

I had severe sunburn whilst in Thailand, my Thai friend applied it all over the burnt area. When i got up the following day, the symptoms were completely relieved, except one small area which had been missed and this area was still extremely tight and burning. it proves it works.
Can anyone tell me if it is any good for arthritis or loss of cartilage? I have recently been told that i have lost all the cartilage in my foot, need a miracle cure.

Also, can I use it to get good hair and can I apply it on my face to get a glowing skin? If yes, please suggest me how to use it.

John 03.14.10 at 2:25 pm

Aloe Vera is good for your stomach, all types of burns, it is good for your urinary track, if you eat fresh aloe vera it has no taste and is very good for you. Fresh aloe vera is the best way to get help from this plant. There ois no need to cook.

John 03.14.10 at 2:48 pm

Aloe vera can be used for open wounds by slicing the clear gel in 1/4 inch slices from the leaf and laying slice over the wound and hold it in place with a ace bandage. put on at night and sleep with it on the wound. in the morning remove bandage carefully trying to leave the aloe on the wound. It will form a scab type protection which will help throughout the day. At night time remove and repeated for as long as needed. This will considerably speed up the healing process.

I used aloe vera cream on my skin as i have exzeema and it was great i got great comfort of having no itchiness and it really worked for my skin as it was very dry. I would recommend using aloe vera on skin conditions even dry skin as it helps put moisture back in your skin.

Kelly 06.28.10 at 6:57 am

Use Aloe Vera for everything..Burns..Acne..And generally to boost your immune system. I swear by this miracle plant. I use it on my face when I have a spot and it clears them up practically overnight!! Cut a piece of the plant and rub the gel onto your affected area.

I am even going to start taking the gel orally to boost my immune system and say goodbye to ever having a cold again!!! Especially after reading all of these blogs.

Isis 06.28.10 at 11:53 am

I am a 17 year old girl and me ad my mom have a couple of aloe vera plants in our backyard. Every time I think I’m going to break out with some pimples i cut off a leaf and get the gel inside. It makes my skin feel fresh and my pimples disappear! Its much cheaper than other products and 100% more natural! I’m not sure if it could be used for more severe acne though.
Also, I use it to heal my sunburns!

What was happening:
I had been having constipation very regularly, I had tried a lot of laxatives, some times ended up taking laxatives once in a week. Then I had tried even magnesium citrate to flush my system. One day I had picked up Aloe Vera dessert packet from a Global Foods store and used it. The packet had chunks of Aloe Vera in a juice that was made very sweet. It actually taste very good.
It made a difference like never before. I started feeling very light and my bowel moments had become very regular. I do not feel bloated any more. I wanted to tell about this in all forums for Constipation, because the cure to the problem is in naturally in the system and Aloe Vera restores the system. Hope it helps, Thanks.

Hi, my husband has come down with arthritis for the past 3 years. We have tried all treatments, but nothing have given complete cure. Please give advise, on how Aloe Vera can help his condition.

Teresa 07.27.10 at 12:04 pm

After reading your opening statement on your website about aloe vera healing your relatives recurrent eczema, you had my full attention. My son got eczema when he was about 6mths old and is now 1yr and 4mths old. It started off coming and going then it started to spread throughout his body rapidly. It’s painful for me as a mother to see my child suffer sleepless nights with an uncontrollable urge to itch. I’ve looked through your website to see how aloe vera works for eczema but it wasn’t posted anywhere. I would greatly appreciate any information on how it works for eczema suffers and how it should be applied. Thank you!

Hi. aloe vera can not taste that great when we drink it direct from the bottle or even mixed with some juices so I used to mix it with agave nectar and taste better , so now I have a new product just called ALOE is very refreshing, love the taste and has the benefits of aloe vera plus benefits and flavor from agave and a delicious light natural orange flavor, I love the flavor when I mix it with cold water before or after meals or anytime during the day. We used to buy sodas and other corn syrup high sugar content juices before to have with meals, now we replaced it for aloe vera with agave nectar, meals are better digested and get all of the benefits of both great plants ALOE and AGAVE.

raquel 08.01.10 at 3:48 pm

My friend gave me a recipe to cure acne with the aloe vera, buy a medium leave and
cut it open and get all the gel from the inside and put it in the
blender blend it well, take it out and put it in a container and put it away
in the refrigerator. Apply it every night in your face for 20 minutes then rinse it
off. That should help with your acne……

I lost a brother to pancreatic cancer, started reading about getting healthy, by going ORGANIC. Read about aloe vera, started growing my own. I use it for just about everything, on my face every day, I eat approx 4 inches of a leaf every day, have over 200 plants, in the ground, and in pots. I think its one of the better things you can do for yourself. ALOE 4 EVER!!!!!

My preference is towards the more natural. Aloe from the plant is a clear gel – not green as many products show it. I suppose some manufacturers have made it green because that color is either expected or more pleasing in some way.
Cut a piece of the plant and rub the gel onto your affected area.

Aida 08.19.10 at 6:00 pm

Aloe Vera(Barbadensis) plant is a miracle plant. It cure so many illnesses. Why? Because Aloe Vera has 3 major functions in our body. First, it cleanses – because of the saponins (natural cleanser) due to oil contents; it has enzymes and lignins (deep penetrating properties – perfect vehicle to transport other elements which it absorbed deeply inside the skin. It penetrate up to the 3rd layer of the skin.) Second, it helps to nourish our body – due to tremendous source of nutrients with 200 compounds: Vitamins (A, C, B complex, Folic Acid, E etc..); Minerals (like potassium, zinc, iron, calcium etc…); Amino Acids, Mono and Polysaccharides. Third, it heals – because of the anthraquinones properties of the aloe vera (anti allergy, anti-viral, antibiotics , anti-fungal…etc). Aloe vera also help to cell regeneration because it has hormone that help increases of new cell growth and eliminate the old one. To sum up aloe vera helps us from in side and outside of our body. For super quality of aloe vera I will suggest to use the products from Forever Living because, the company is the largest grower, producer and manufacturing of aloe vera. I am an avid user of their products because their products are natural and highest quality.

My sister had a small boil on her gums, and one tooth was shaky. Due to this she had a very bad odor. We used to hate to go near her because of the bad odor. She tried using neem leaves, tooth paste etc. etc. The doctors said that they could treat her only if her diabetes comes to normal. She was fed up as everybody was complaining about her bad mouth odor. She started scrubbing her teeth and gums with aleovera leaf having the flesh morning and night. As she started using, her boil vanished and her mouth odor was getting lesser and less and now after a month or so she is free from mouth odor and also boil. However her tooth is still shaky. Praise and Thank God for this wonder working plant. Now I have started using the plant for my teeth so that my mouth should never smell even by mistake.

Bee Stings – I was hit by four yellow jackets. Three hits on my shoulder and one on my wrist. My hand blew up like a balloon, itchy and red. I was convinced that I should go to the emergency room, but read in a first aid book, they couldn’t do anything for a bee sting. Of course, use an Epi Pen if you are totally allergic to bee stings. I put Aloe Vera juice, right from the plant on my hand and the stinging stopped. Yesterday my hand was swollen, but today my hand is almost normal. I can bend my fingers again. Take that to the doctor!

My father has bad fungus and what we believe as a internal bacterial infection that I think has become internally septic. After going to almost 10 different Dr. none of which could cure him and basically given up. We turned to my two huge Aloe Vera plants that i had got for free from a friend.
He applied the leaf directly to his feet and put plastic bags over them. As his condition made his feet dry do bad and callus so bad they would crack and bleed and he was unable to walk.
Withing days, he was walking. within weeks. old dry callus skin was falling off and what appeared to be new skin was forming.
It has helped more than we even expected, the only thing now is swelling in his feet, almost a water retention look..
We tried so many different medications, and no one knew what it was exactly.
Sometimes just going back to basics is the best answer.

I have used aloe vera lotion to sooth sun burn pain. It is refreshing and has a nice scent to it. I have also taken aloe vera gel and found that it helped with my joint pain
and curbed my appetite.

I had dandruff problem and I used different kinds of hair oil and shampoo. Dermatologist told me the cause of dandruff is elevated stress.

Then I started home remedies like applying lemon juice. Lemon did reduce dandruff but I got head full of acne., causing irritation. Sometime, It used to bleed. Then one night my wife applied aloe vera. She just cut one stem out of tree and applied sticky liquid on my scalp. To my wonder, all acne vanished very next day. I continued using it for couple of days more and showing results for dandruff too.

I am a 16 year old female, I am an aloe Vera fanatic. I love learning about this miracle plant, I use it in my hair which is extremely curly and dry, aloe gives my hair shine and moisture I also use it every night on my face. I had small acne scars and after about 3 days they all faded now about 4 months later my face is radiant clear and my skin is extremely soft. I also use it on all kinds of burns including sun burns and on cuts. It works all kinds of wonders! I have wanted to try ingesting the aloe but I have came to the conclusion that my stomach might not take to it too well but it is worth a shot. This web site is by far the best I have seen. I’m constantly looking up what to do with my aloe and I have gotten great ideas because of this site. thnx and keep up the great site (:

I’m a fan of the Aloe only Made from Earth skincare line. I have never seen a more natural aloe. It is not a gel – its a thick lotion-type product that feels exactly like aloe.

No scent, no color. Just aloe vera.

It is refreshing straight out of the bottle at room temp or can be kept in the frig for a more cooling, soothing immediate effect.

venkatasubramani 10.24.10 at 12:52 am

I started taking aloe vera juice for past six months for constipation and gastric problems, now I have got a very good improvement. How long can I take aloe vera juice, is it safe to take daily.

Ndikumana Etienne 10.28.10 at 4:09 am

My request regards if Aloe vera can be used to cure AMEBIASIS? Because I visited this website and I remarked that many people have been answered from their questions. So, I will be grateful of being answered through my e-mail.

Kat 11.05.10 at 11:01 pm

Topical uses of aloe vera do not cause any significant harm. However, oral use of aloe vera can result in diarrhea, which is important because it DECREASES THE ABSORPTION OF DRUGS. This is very important for people who are taking other medication. Please be careful.

azhagumurugan 11.07.10 at 2:44 am

Aloe Vera; I think that was very good food supplement because of vast practice by several people for vitality, i thank god for this opportunity to register over here.

diana 11.10.10 at 11:43 am

YES!! USE FOR HAIR RESTORATION. JUST RUB ALOE VERA GEL ON OUR SCALP.. IT GROWS HAIR, I AM 71 AND HAVE MORE HAIR THAN MY DAUGHTER.. YES, I was concerned about that loss also! Have been a barber for over 20 years, and always recommend aloe vera, (and vitamin B complex 100 mg)
one a day. Never fails. This combo grows hair , and it’s a blessing to be able to see hair growth again.
Also, I have been subject to bladder infections, and when I feel one coming on, I immediately take a shot glass of aloe vera gel, twice a day, and in one day it is gone!! I also use this for burns, and got a real bad one from the microwave dish, and put aloe vera on it almost immediately pain was gone and no scarring!!

Josephine 11.11.10 at 1:36 am

I have been reading all the above testimonies and I’m moved by all the different experiences that people are sharing here as well as the questions being raised. My dad discovered two months ago that he is diabetic, and lucky enough i had just become a member of one of the world’s largest grower and producer of Aloe Vera products. I immediately bought for him all the necessary supplements that we have in the company including Aloe vera gel and the treatment has been amazing for him so far.
I’m still learning about the plant, so what i know so far is that there are over 200 species of this plan so all those using it please be advised that the best specie is the Aloe barbadensis miller which has all the nutrients that your body needs.

I have researched Aloe Vera for a few years now. Mainly because I started drinking it. It has the ability to heal so much. It is defiantly worth reading about and learning about the 8 simple sugars it produces, and much more…

I LOVE ALOE VERA! It has completely changed my life!! A year ago I suffered really badly from IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome) and Acne. I barely left my house as it was so bad! My skin was always rashy and bleeding and as a 21 yr old guy I was very conscious of it! Also the IBS affected me for weeks at a time and so hindered work. SO between both conditions I didn’t have a social life or much of a work life.
A friend of mine who had got involved as his girlfriend suffered from IBS suggested I try this Aloe Drink Gel. I was obviously skeptical but so desperate to try anything I did. After 3 weeks my IBS had reduced and nearly completely gone. I was also seeing a difference with my skin and energy. I started using some of the Aloe Propolis Creme he suggested and it did wonders to my skin. I also started using the Liquid Aloe Soap which helped amazingly.
Anyway…. a year on and I can HONESTLY say its changed my life, I have regained my confidence and now enjoy going out and meeting people and having a life.

Mahadeva 12.03.10 at 5:40 am

I drink aloe vera juice every day and can testify how good it is.

For me the main benefit is that my digestive system is very healthy, I don’t suffer from any constipation and everything moves through with no difficulty ;-)

My skin is also much more supple and healthy-looking. As a yoga teacher I am convinced that regular intake of aloe vera juice helps with my flexibility. I drink 60ml in the morning and 60ml before my evening meal.

Aloe 12.08.10 at 10:32 am

Aloe vera is the oldest healing plant on earth. I begun to drink 2006 almost on daily basis. Benefit is incredible. Since I start to drink I have never been seriously sick. Yes, I was couple time cold but it was my mistake only. I can recommend to everybody to drink aloe vera gel or aloe vera juice.

Hi all,

Yes you all are absolutely right.. Alovera is miracle and Gift of God. My hair was falling for one year. I tried different allopathic as well as homeopathis shampoo but none of them could stop hair falling and dandruff. I tried a lot of home remedy but all of them couldn’t work.

My friend doing job in cosmetic manufacturer company. He told me to use natural Alovera juice for hair and for dandruff… Believe on me, it stop hair falling and dandruff miraculously….

I’m also use to drink its juice 4 to 5 days in week. It improve my health….
Its safe to drink…..

Hello All, first of all i want to say that Aloe Vera is a natural food supplement, a miraculous plant that has the potential to cure any disease of any chronicity, as i got my BP cured at 32 with the help of Aloe Vera and its supplements. So, its my personal experience and have been dealing with a company which produces this one of its unique miraculous plant of ALOE VERA naturally in their own farm without any PESTICIDES, HERBICIDES, FERTILIZERS, any CHEMICAL EXPOSURE or any such sort of HAZARDOUS THINGS in a 100% PURE ENVIRONMENT, and then EXTRACTING CHUNKS OF ALOE in a GEL form and then packing and restoring its properties in a safest way. This gel is indigestible and PURE than any other aloe vera in the world consisting of 98.5% pure aloe vera.

Hi all,

I have extremely sensitive skin, and the terrible ozone layer that Australia has isn’t helping at all. My skin gets so irritated and all those skin products with the “sensitive skin” labels don’t seem to do a thing. So my mother used to buy the plants and I would put the gel on my face and it would relieve the irritation. I finally came across this aloe vera brand and their cleanser and toner have saved my face. I literally saw my face getting smoother and the heat rashes disappearing. You can check it out aloevtherapy . com i hope it helps you like it does me.

Brent Tibbetts 01.08.11 at 8:50 pm

To answer a few questions I have noticed in this column:
Yes you can put aloe vera on your face (or anywhere) or drink/eat it.
The oldest leaves have the most benefits, preferably at least 3-4 years old, 7 is supposed to be best. Variety with the tall yellow blossom stalks are best, but all have benefits. The gel inside is the most commonly used. The green skin has latex in it and is a laxative, so if you use that too much it will cause diarrhea. Most people cut off all the skin and use the gel. Fresh is always better than the prepared products (just not as convenient). Be generous. Heals wounds fast.

whitney 01.09.11 at 5:22 am

Hi guys,
As we are on the subject of aloe vera plant.
i agree 100% with using aloe vera as a medicine to help cure your sunburn.
Not so long ago, I got EXTREMELY sunburn from going to the beach all day,
and i was in lots of pain for two days straight and it seemed like it was going on forever.
Then, on the 3rd day, my mum came into my room with a cut up aloe vera plant.
I practically smeared it all over my face, and it felt much better already, although did
not get rid of all the pain.
The funny thing is, I also happen/ed to have bad acne and i noticed when i used
the aloe vera, my face cleared up nearly completely!
so now, once or twice a week, i apply the aloe vera to my used to be ‘troubled’
areas of acne, and my skin overall has improved immensely!
So, not only for people who have sunburn skin, but acne/pimple problems.
Just give it a go, what do you have to lose? it helped me and i enjoy my confidence
so much more!

Joy 01.09.11 at 5:04 pm

Heard from a friend who suffered from severe hair loss, it helped her get nice and full healthier hair. She has been using fresh aloe vera extract for approximately a year now and she is very satisfied with its benefits. I tried it today for the fist time because my hair have been shedding for 10 months now. As my friend does, wet hair, apply fresh aloe vera extract and let it dry then rinse with dove soap or any mild/natural shampoo. Do it everyday or every other day. she said sometimes on weekends that she just have to stay home, she would just leave it on and rinse it the next morning.

Aloe vera has helped my life to turn around. I suffered from ME (chronic fatigue) and by drinking 60ml of 100% aloe vera gel daily on an empty stomach I managed to get my energy back to the point that now I am able to run 10km 3 times a week.
It is the yellow bottle Aloe Vera Gel, product code 15.
I purchase the products from a UK distributor.

miss sunburn 02.09.11 at 5:26 am

I use aloe vera as a SUNSCREEN. It works!

I take a couple of leaves from my garden, split them open and liberally smear the gel gently onto my face, arms, neck (whatever will be exposed to the sun) and it protects me from getting sunburned. No redness whatsoever! It seems to work for hours at a time.

Try it yourself and see. I’ve stopped using regular sunscreen – the nasty chemicals used don’t prevent cancer, they actually cause cancer.

Post back here with your comments on how it works for you! I’d love to hear them.

Is there any side effects by preparing in such a way?

Mix fresh aloe vera in a smoothy with other fruits and cranberry. A very good source for relieving constipation.

I have been suffering with this for many years and have lost most of my pigmentation. It is very discomforting emotionally and have tried treatments, but they do not work. Also, to drink aloe vera, can it be purchased in grocery stores. Thank you.

Vanessa 03.14.11 at 6:13 pm

I love Aloe Vera. I use the Gel. The brand I use uses the whole leaf to make the gel and it is a clear gel. It is an acquired taste but you get use to it. I learned about Aloe Vera from a friend many years ago. She had the most beautiful skin, healthy shiny hair and was in her 60\’s then. She was not overweight and had so much energy, calmness and looked so young.

When we met she took me home with her and showed me her secret. She had a potted Aloe Vera farm in her living room. You would not believe the size and height of some of the plants. She showed me how she peeled the skin off and took the gel internally every morning as well as using it on her skin and hair.

She looked younger than me and I was 20 years younger than her. I didn’t use Aloe for many years. One day I remembered her and began buying the Aloe Vera I mentioned, from the Health Food Store. Within two days I began to notice the difference.

I use it on my hair and skin and it helps to regulate my system. I also notice it curbs appetite and my eyes always feel better when I’m on the computer for hours. Is there anything it does not do? It is truly a physician in a plant. It is amazing how quickly it shows results with no side effects.

I allowed myself to run out of it a few months ago but will be stocking up on it again.

One thing I suggest is to make sure you drink adequate water daily. The toxins and waste need to leave your body. Without adequate water to flush your system daily it will hinder anything else you may be doing to promote health. The other helpers are fresh air and staying active daily.

This is a wonderful site and enjoyed reading it and the comments!

All praises to Yah.

Donhuy 03.18.11 at 8:48 pm

Thank you all for posting advice and comments on this website. I recently read a lot of benefits of Aloe Vera leaf. They say there are 300 kinds of Aloe Vera plants in the world, and only about 30 of them can be used to cure diseases. The best one is the kind with shiny green with white spots on its leaves. No I am having sarcoma cancer spreading to lung and neck. My doctor said now there was no way for curing this. Any one of you who knows which kind of Aloe Vera plant is best for me? Thanks

Tina 03.27.11 at 6:33 pm

Yes, Aloe Vera is truly an amazing plant from God, I had a bad irritating cough and
the cure of it is simple just peel of the skin and wash of the gel (which is bitter) and cut it up and steam in a bowl with few pcs. Rock sugar to taste. Steam for 3 – 4 hours after that, keep to cool and enjoy the drink and the cough is gone totally stop coughing. Try it …. Praise the Lord.

Mythili Girikumar 03.29.11 at 10:47 pm

I am passionately in love with this wonder herb. Once, I tilted boiling milk over my stomach and feet. Imagine the agony! I remembered the aloe vera plant which my landlady had planted in our garden. I liberally applied the gel over my stomach and feet which had already bloated horribly. The instant, cool effect was heavenly. The next morning the skin had shrunk with wrinkles. There was no pain! And miraculously, the next morning I found the wrinkled skin had just dropped off, leaving a layer of new skin. There was absolutely no pain! Within a day or two no one would believe that the accident really happened, when I told them about it! I am using and recommending aloe vera to about anyone for any ailment. Wherever I shift my residence I never fail to take the plant with me. Of course, I also leave a plant in the place before leaving. It has cured my mouth ulcers, sore throat, rashes, my son’s pimples, operation wounds, my husband’s psoriasis, dandruff etc.,besides being a fantastic beauty aid for the skin and hair. I would like to know if it could heal heart disease (coronary blocks), anemia, low BP, stress and epilepsy.

Mythili Girikumar 03.30.11 at 12:51 am

For me and my family it has healed burns, mouth ulcers, pimples, rashes, abrasions, surgery wounds, skin disease, psoriasis, dandruff, acidity and much more. It is a Godsend.

Amanda Short 03.30.11 at 10:14 am

I was introduced to forever living by a friend and started using the aloe gel – apart from the increased energy and feeling of well being – I lost weight and also experienced an improvement in my eyesight which was discovered during a routine check up and had to have my contact lenses prescription changed. This has never happened to me before and the optician was extremely surprised! I signed up as a distributor 3 months later and am now working for the company – I can’t wait to hear similar stories from my family, friends and customers!

Jyothi 04.06.11 at 1:23 am

I read about great benefits of Aloe and started eating raw leaf(the translucent part) first thing in the morning from last 10 days.
Today, I read something on net which talks about Aloe Latex and says shouldn’t be consumed regularly..
I’m concerned about it as i don’t want my body to be dependent on AloeLatex.

Hi Everyone,
I am 30 yr old female. I have been losing my hair since oct 09. I’ve tried allopathy, homeopathy and ayurvedic treatment so far. nothing has helped me at all. I’m suffering from FPB. Last week I’ve started applying onion juice and aloe vera gel fresh from the plant. i leave onion juice on my scalp for 1hr and then apply aloe vera juice. i hope this will help me regrow my hair and stop hair loss. I’ve read a lot about onion juice so started trying it. I’ve also put bottled aloe vera juice in a spray bottle to use it twice a day on my scalp as a leave-in treatment. has anyone used it before??? I’m also drinking aloe vera juice 30ml twice daily.

Maureen 05.08.11 at 4:14 pm

I love this site, I use the aloe vera as a skin lotion and I also peel it and blend it with any fruit I have. I noticed that I feel energized and my skin is so clear and soft. I am also using it to cleanse my body of toxins. I am going to continue using it for health benefits which it may have.

Colin 05.15.11 at 12:44 pm

I found using aloe vera on my sunburn helps more than anything else. I burn easily and using the plant cools it quickly.

Angel 05.17.11 at 8:00 am

Thank you for all the information you’ve shared about this wonderful plant. My husband and i recently started taking the aloe vera gel. We cut out the gel from the plant, cut it in a little cube like shape and swallow with a glass of water (like tablets). I have noticed that it clears my bowels which makes me feel lighter and a lot stronger.

However, I’ve been wondering if the aloe vera would increase fertility. I have heard several benefits of the plant but none about fertility. Please can you share more light on this? Will the intake of aloe vera increase one’s chance of pregnancy?

hi every one.

i have some acne problem and have pimple scars all over my face. Heard from someone that Aloe VERA gel is the best cure for this. Can any one tell me it works or not.

amy 05.30.11 at 10:38 pm

Hi Everyone…. I would like encourage everyone who reads these posts and if it helps them in any way. Please leave your feedback. I would like to thank TINA who left a post in march 11 here that her post really helped me. I’ve cough for past three days and night before it just got worse. I couldn’t sleep all night and kept coughing. My body was so exhausted from the cough and my throat felt so raw and painful. There is no good medicine out there that can help. Even the pharmacist said that nothing will help you. So i went to homeopath and got some medicine yesterday morning. Homeopath said that the medicine will take 2-3 days to respond. So last night i cut a chunk of leaf from aloe vera plant, peeled it, and boiled the gel in water for half an hour..added sugar as i didn’t have raw sugar at home, then i tasted it. It was bit bitter for me so i added a spoon of honey in it. I had that amazing hot drink before i went to bed. I was so surprised. It helped me get rid of the cough up to 95%. I slept like a baby. Thank you Tina for your remedy. Aloe Vera is Amazing!!! I will have it again tonight to cure the cough completely. I’ve bookmarked this page and follow it once a week to see any updates. So keep posting!!

The wonders of aloe have been expressed by many people, in many aspects of human life. This I greatly appreciate. my question is that after all this, can aloe vera be used as liquid top dressing fertilizer. Can someone send me detailed information on how I can make my aloe plant become liquid fertilizer.

Aakor Nyegoo 06.13.11 at 5:15 am

This website has confirmed my knowledge about aloe vera plant. I have known its benefits over 30 years ago, especially its ability to clear cancer. But I was not sure until today.

My handsome son has HALITOSIS. As he grows, the stench on his body and mouth gets worse. His breath is the worst and it is affecting him badly. He is in very gainful employment but getting a wife is the problem. Please can someone tell me if aloe vera can do the magic. He has done everything from pasting twice to pasting after every meal etc. etc. He is very neat. We have also tried many traditional herbal medicines. Please help.

I’m reading all the posted comments here, and they’re saying that Aloe juice that is made from pure; fresh gel from the leaves is bitter. I’ve been drinking it for few days now but I never tasted bitterness on it. I don’t know what kind of specie it came from. I bought it from Asian grocery store. My friend recommended it to me and she and her family has been using it for quite a long time now and they really benefited from it. Her husband is a diabetic and now he is totally out of any medicine the doctor prescribed to him. But of course he’s also taking bitter-melon tea alongside of this aloe vera fresh juice.

Hi! I have just found out about this website, and would like to share with you all about aloe vera. I have been using aloe vera for quite some time, for rashes and allergic that causes unbearable itches on my hands and feet. However, I’ve never taken it internally. Last week my 2 and a half year old son had rashes at the back of his wrist. He started to scratch and the small red dots started to pop up even more. Without hesitation, I cut a fresh leaf of aloe vera and got his wrist rub with aloe vera gel. I applied only a very small amount of aloe vera gel on his wrist. I noticed the rashes, the red spots and itchiness he was suffering had gone in less than 3 minutes. Alhamdulillah.

I will give you feedback if aloe vera will be the answer to my more than 2 decades gastritis problem.

ED 07.12.11 at 5:42 am

Hi Dante,

I have a friend who has gastritis, she also took aloe vera but the gastritis attacks were just the same, so she stopped it after taking one liter of aloe vera.

however after several few months, the gastritis attacks become seldom, before she would have gastritis attacks several times a week, now she has it like once in 2-3 months, i suggest you take aloe vera for at least 2-3 months to know if it’s effective.

Hello, I am doing an assessment in which we have to discover three natural anti-bodies to prevent an e.coli strand. One of the possible natural anti-bodies to use is Aloe Vera, so i was wondering if you had information about Aloe Vera and what it does to E.coli

JohnQ 07.13.11 at 11:04 pm

I would like to know if the skin of aloe vera has any health benefits

Mary Wong 07.15.11 at 6:59 am

Dr M. Rajen fr Malaysia gives this therapy for gastritis:

Peel 2 potatoes, making sure sprouts (if any) are cut away. Extract juice of raw potatoes by juicer or manually scrape and squeeze out juice. Drink juice immediately after squeezing (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup) just before bedtime. Repeat treatment for 7-10 days and it should cure you of gastritis. My husband and friends who tried this therapy have been successfully cured.

Good luck

Great wall on aloe vera.

Forrestan 07.18.11 at 7:13 am

I had tried many western medicines before for my skin itchiness but the problem persist. Aloe vera has certain calming effects to my skin but it’s short lived. I combine it with chinese medicine and it shows significant improvement.
The ingredients are Radix Polygoni Multiflori Praeparata, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhiae, Radix Rehmanniae, Fructus Kochiae, Fructus Cnidii, Rhizoma Chuanxiong, Flos Cartami, Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae, Periostracum Cicadae, Radix Sophorae Flavescentis, Fructus Xanthii.
It helps to relieve symptoms of pruritic dermatosis such as pruritus, eczema and urticaria. Probably u can try it too and let us know its effects.

Cliff 07.29.11 at 11:58 pm

For a few years I have suffered a constant itching on my shins, if I knocked them they would open up and then would not heal. My doctor prescribed Steroid Creams, Moisturizers etc, sticky and messy and really no great effect and how sticky when dressing.

A friend recommended 2 products – Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Vera Propolis Cream. I was a total skeptic but decided to give it a try – anything was better than carrying on as I was.

To start with I only needed minimal amounts to rub in – after 2 minutes the stickiness had gone, so no problem with putting trousers on afterwards and amazingly after 3 weeks the majority of the wounds had started to heal significantly and now after 5 weeks they have all cleared up.

I have thrown away all the prescribed medicines and am now an Aloe Vera Missionary – in fact so much so I have joined a company promoting its benefits.
What an amazing plant the world has given to us.

Ali 08.02.11 at 7:49 pm

Hi there
My elderly Mum suffers from intermittent bad headaches. We have done ‘all the tests’ and they appear to come from structural/postural issues in her shoulders and back which are hard to remedy at her age. A friend told me aloe vera helps with pain relief however I can’t see anything about that on your website. Could you please tell me whether aloe vera has any qualities which makes it helpful for pain management.
With thanks

I am a 31 year old man, and I live in Tanzania. We have an abundance of the aloe Vera plant here. In fact I just bought three today for my medicinal use.
It is FANTASTIC for skin problems (such as rashes and discolorations). Normally any scars I may have disappear within 2-3 days of application.
The biggest surprise has been the fact that this miracle plant has begun to return my hair ! My hairline was beginning to recede around the temples. For the past 3 weeks or so I have been applying the gel directly onto the areas where I lost hair, and now I can clearly see that I have gained close to a centimeter !! It may be worth mentioning that I also consume one drop (it is extremely bitter) mixed with juice. Perhaps this has helped with the hair regrowth.
Bottom line is, aloe vera can help regrow your hair. It just takes about a month for you to notice anything.

Here is a wonderful concoction we use here in Jamaica. aloe vera, egg, garlic and orange, all blended together. Great for the immune system.

My daughter is diagnosed with
hidradenitis suppurativa.

She is 25 and initially she was diagnosed with Ectodermal Dysplaisa. During these 25 years she was given different antibiotics for boil on body and instead of doing any good, it worsened her skin. Than her diagnosis was changed from ED to HS.
Now she is on remecaid starded with weekly to fortnigh and once a month and now doctor would decide next dose. She is getting pimples on her face. We are using Aloe Vera Gel taken out from plants, every day for her pimples.
Is any way we can take them out and preserve it, as the weather is going to be cold and there are chances plants would dry. Or someone can help me with any suggestion.
All I can say is I would pray for you folks.

I am suffering from varicose veins problems and the problem has become so acute I feel always heaviness in the feet and some times swallowing .Since last 15 days I have started taking pure aloe Vera , I have plucked a long and big leaf of aloe vera which has great amount of juice, I wash it and cut and rub it with teeth in no time all juice is extracted , the greatest advantage that I have noticed is that it has reduced my waist and a little thinner hips. This is tasteless and can be easily consumed by any one if he wants to have it directly.
This is my suggestion to every one who are facing some skin problems or other some deceases should take it regularly it is good for health and it causes no problems to the body on the contrary it help glow skins.

I went traveling and forgot my normal moisturizer. I started to read the bottle of 100% aloe vera gel my boyfriend keep on the counter. I remember the plant as a child. My mother would tell me if you have a cute to break it open and use the gel inside. On the bottle it challenged you to tell them what you use it for ,truly some of the answers surprised me. The bottle said you could use it for blemishes and even for your hair. Really! I gave it a try for both and I can’t believe the results my face has had from aloe. Its truly amazing that I almost bought a $400 facial line when this amazing stuff has been sitting around for years. It literally has overnight started to restore my face. I am 29 year old female who’s tried it all . Over night I could see and feel the difference. Nothing comes close to doing what aloe has done for my face. Yippie I am going to wash my face and feel the difference now……….
Take Care:)

subhash agrawal 12.15.11 at 5:08 am

Hello everyone
Everyone who is the user of this site is requested to submit his/her further experiences as regards to healing up of varicose veins by the use of aloe vera gel, I have recently started taking this but I don’t know how much benefits I am getting from the use of it.I have had have been varicose problems since last few years and I have taken treatment from many doctors but one from them has been able to diagnosis my problems, others had taken that I have got eczema so they were treating me.This diagnosis came out through color Doppler of the legs which showed that blood vessels have inflated and they are not giving proper supply of blood to heart and other organs. The blood re fluxes and deposits at the bottom of the legs which give heaviness, swelling , unending sweet itching, consequently blood flows and they form wounds and take a large period of time to heal up but I think they never heal up if one heals up others grow and thus leg becomes full of wounds every where and the skin too becomes black, the suffer feels bad and even the people who come across to this also so indication of unfriendliness. They do not prefer to keep contacts. The doctors have told that operation is only the remedy of this problem and this is generally cured by the laser system.
Therefore, it is requested to share the problems/views so that others who are suffering from this could get some relaxation and could follow the manner of the treatment.

I HAD 3rd degree burns all over the top of both of my hands trying to put out a grease fire in my home.
I cried because i thought i would have to live with those scares for the rest of my life…
– BUT-
By the grace of god, drinking lots of water, and one leaf off a aloe plant my mom brought to me.
My hands doesn’t look like it’s every been burned at all!
Now i use it all on my face, hair, and skin just as lotion every day it works great…

Tom 02.02.12 at 10:27 pm

The best way to use an Aloe leaf is to FILET it so that you can take full advantage of the miracle of this plant…its gel. When adding it to any blended drink, add it last to minimize the blending. It’s those little poly saccharides that you don’t want to ruin by over blending.

Special note to Subhash; want to reverse the vein issue, you will also need to change your diet, complete whole foods plant based. In a few months to a year you will see great improvement to you veins, well everything actually. Don’t forget to exercise.

I have been drinking Aloe Vera on a regular basis since 2007. The reason I started is I had IBS and went to the doctor, while I was at the doctor’s I decided to have my physical and some blood work done because I just turned 40. Turns out I am also diabetic. Anyway, I started drinking the Aloe once I discovered that the medication was nearly $5.00 per pill. I started out drinking 8 ounces in the morning and 8 ounces in the evening. It took about a week or so and my IBS was completely cured. Went back to the doctors three weeks later and explained there were no more problems and he said (quote) “Well good that means the medication did its job!” However once I mentioned that all I did was drink Aloe since our last visit, he simply scoffed at the comment. It has been a little over 4 years and I now drink about 20 ounces twice per day. (You get used to the taste) I have bought three plants in which I also make fruit smoothies with. I have seen it cure acid reflux in three friends of mine and they are all off the “purple pill”. The doc says my complexion looks great which I attribute to the Aloe too.

One other note, when I was 12 I scalded my stomach very badly with a kettle of water, my mother split aloe leaves and laid them on my stomach daily for about a week I think, healed it right up.

While my doctor may scoff at my belief in Aloe, I certainly believe that there are actual cures provided by mother earth. Oh and my diabetes is in check now too, just in case you were wondering…….. :)

Thanks for the postings. I grow aloe vera in my terrace. The gel when cut fresh from the plant excludes a yellow liquid and is very slippery due to the presence of a chemical called aloin, which is not good for health. so please wash the gel, several times(at least 7 times) in clean water. you can consume 1 sq cm of the gel everyday. It is tasteless, but if you want you can toss it in powdered palm sugar. The plant does not require much water. Its called kumari; in tamil, which means always young.

Since I reached and passed 50 years old, I started having dry bump skin in areas of my face. I feel this is hereditary as my sister had it on her head scalp. She gave me a prescription cream that she applied and it cleared. I use it and it clears but only for short period of time and then it reappears.
I heard from a friend that she applied aloe from her plant to a burn on her skin and this got me thinking… i want to use au-natural and not cortozone cream.. is the aloe from the plant safe to use on the face.?????
Please help me out here. I hate the appearance on my face with the dryness.!!!

I just read about Aloe Vera recommended to me by my colleague as nature’s wonderful healer. I must admit that I have never known any names like it before this day February 23, 2012 and I am about 45. How can I obtain Aloe Vera? and from where?

Thank you in advance.

I had extraction of a back tooth 10 days ago and Doctor also gave me the antibiotics for healing the wound and relief of pain. I used the medicine regularly but infection was not curing and much trouble because of pain. I visited the doctor 2 more times, the Doctor changed the medicine but no relief from pain. Yesterday night, a put a small pulp piece of aloe vera in mouth and slept soundly and in the morning I repeated the same exercise and now feeling much better.
Wish you all the Best.

I’ve experienced using aloe vera gel, the effect is tremendously unexplainable, I call it “miraculous plant”.

Adrian 03.18.12 at 1:58 pm

Aloe Vera has allantoin (as opposed to alloin which it also has in the gel lining) – this substance is also found in comfrey and is a cell proliferant for bone healing. I used to rub the gel on a longstanding sprain injury to some benefit, but now I just consume the gel directly. I also want the allantoin to regrow some defiled teeth, which would otherwise remain stagnant quite possibly. The healing up of my ankle (since 2002) is truly a miracle.. Still a bit to go but it is getting there. I am taking the gel directly from a leaf, but will either start soaking in water or mixing with something else as somewhat irritating.

I came across a product line called ” Forever Living “, Its claim is that it is base product is Aloe and the company has a very extensive list and array of products. Do you know this company , if yes do you have any reviews.

I’m a 40 year old male have been drinking Aloe Vera juice going on 4 weeks now. The first thing I noticed was my chronic heartburn went away after the first week. Second I have been battling problems with my Colin that went away in week 2 along with bloating. Also I had Disk replacement surgery in my neck 6 years ago and in the past year have had problems with my neck getting stiff, that now is longer is an issue. I’m looking forward to the next couple months to see more benefits.

Simone Dixon 03.29.12 at 2:27 am

Aloe vera helped me enormously with my digestion. I was facing all sorts of problems, and I want everyone to know this is the real deal.

Ricky 05.13.12 at 11:16 am

The complete list of conditions that aloe vera can dramatically improve/eliminate is very long, but some of the topical uses are: x-ray and radiation burns, skin ulcers, abrasions, snake bites (poisonous), bee and scorpion stings, poison oak and poison ivy, herpes simplex, zoster and Herpes II, ringworm and other fungi, and gingivitis.

Some of the internal uses include: insomnia, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, anxiety, angina pectoris, depression, autoimmune diseases, lupus, Staph aureus, HIV, heart disease and cancer.

As a few people have mentioned, the gel itself does not have a bitter taste. The bitter taste comes from the yellowish juice. Gel fresh from the plant is ideal in my opinion, but otherwise use a product that is stabilized. Generally, products found in grocery stores and drug stores are very diluted and contain little aloe vera.

Aloe vera actually enhances the effects of other nutritional supplements and even pharmaceuticals. So if you eat aloe vera take it with some other type of nutritious food/supplement to maximize the effects of both.

There are a few books on aloe vera that seem worth buying, one of which I did buy titled, Aloe Vera The New Millennium: The Future of Wellness in the 21st Century, by Bill C. Coats R.Ph., C.C.N. and Robert Ahola. There is loads of information on studies that have been done with stabilized aloe vera, plus some anecdotes. Another book I have considered is, Aloe Vera: Natures Silent Healer, by Alasdair Barcroft and Dr. Audum Myskja. If you purchase this book please put a review on Amazon so the rest of us will know if it is worth the price. A few other researchers/authors of natural healing methods that will be of interest to visitors of this site are Albert Roy Davis and Walter C. Rawls, Jr. on the therapeutic value of magnetism, Dr. John Nash Ott on the health benefits of light, and Dr. Weston A. Price on staying healthy through proper nutrition.
